Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed all departments to stay on high alert as heavy rains continued to lash Hyderabad and various parts of Telangana.
He ordered officials to evacuate people living in dilapidated houses and shift them to safer locations. He also instructed Transco staff to ensure that electric poles and transformers near Ganesh pandals pose no danger to devotees.

The Chief Minister asked Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), GHMC, SDRF, fire services, and police personnel to coordinate effectively to avoid disruptions in the city. He said traffic must be restricted at low-lying causeways and culverts where water levels rise.
Revanth Reddy instructed the irrigation department to take preventive measures at tanks and ponds where breaches are likely. Noting the risk of waterborne diseases, he asked civic bodies to eliminate stagnant water and intensify sanitation efforts.
He further directed health department staff to stock adequate medicines in hospitals and set up medical camps wherever required. The CM stressed that all departments must act swiftly to safeguard lives and maintain order during the ongoing weather conditions.
