Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday expressed deep sorrow over the death of senior Congress leader and former Chevella MLA Konda Laxma Reddy. The veteran leader passed away in Hyderabad early in the morning. He was 84.
CM Revanth Reddy recalls Konda Laxma Reddy’s service
Revanth Reddy praised Reddy’s long public life and his dedication to people’s welfare. He noted that Reddy had served society with integrity and devotion. The Chief Minister said Reddy’s work reflected his lifelong loyalty to the Congress.
Reddy also remembered that Konda Laxma Reddy, inspired by journalism, founded News Service of the South (NSS) in 1980. He served as president of the Press Club of Hyderabad and the Jubilee Hills Journalists’ Cooperative Housing Society.
Funeral to be held at Mahaprasthanam
The Chief Minister offered prayers for peace to Reddy’s soul and conveyed heartfelt condolences to his family and supporters. Family members said Reddy had received treatment at Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad for age-related illness and died around 5:30 a.m. on Monday. The funeral will take place at Mahaprasthanam in Hyderabad at 3 p.m.
