Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed deep shock and conveyed condolences to the families of five men who were electrocuted during Krishnashtami celebrations at Ramanthapur in Hyderabad. The incident occurred near Gokul Nagar on Sunday night when a decorated chariot came into contact with a live electric wire.
The victims were identified as Krishna Yadav (24), Srikanth Reddy (35), Suresh (34), Rudravikas (39), and Rajendra Reddy (39). Four others sustained severe injuries and were admitted to different hospitals for treatment.
The Chief Minister sought details from officials and inquired into the reasons behind the accident. He directed that the injured receive proper medical care without delay.
Krishnashtami tragedy claims five lives in Hyderabad
Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar visited hospitals treating the injured and instructed doctors to provide quality care. He said he was monitoring their health condition closely.
TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud and Minister Prabhakar also expressed grief over the tragedy. They offered condolences to the grieving families and urged people to be extra careful during festival processions—especially around overhead power lines in the rainy season.
