HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy delivered a sharp rebuttal to BRS leader Harish Rao, challenging him to an open discussion on irrigation projects, including Sriram Sagar, Nagarjuna Sagar, Koil Sagar, and Manjeera.
Taking a direct jibe at former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), Revanth Reddy remarked, “What do young crows know? This isn’t about others—KCR, this is about you.” He asserted that the people of Telangana had already shown the impact of Congress’s leadership in the 2023 elections.
Revanth Reddy questioned why KCR, despite his political experience, was unable to face the public without holding power. “Is KCR so dependent on power that he cannot meet the people without it? Why does he need to send his son and son-in-law in his place?” he asked.
He further questioned the relevance of KCR receiving opposition leader privileges, such as salary and allowances, if he was unwilling to step out and engage with the people.
Referring to KCR’s past statement that cultivating capsicum could make farmers rich, Revanth Reddy challenged him to reveal the so-called “technique” behind this claim. “Tell the people how you made ₹1 lakh crore. In fact, I will send 1,000 young individuals to your farmhouse—teach them your methods,” he added sarcastically.
Mocking the BRS leader’s self-proclaimed title of “Father of Telangana,” Revanth Reddy asked, “Who is he the father of? To whom is he a father?” He asserted that true figures deserving of the title “Father of Telangana” were Konda Laxman Bapuji and Professor Jayashankar, not KCR.
Accusing KCR of corruption and irresponsibility, he stated, “A man who looted ₹1 lakh crore, a drunkard, someone who drained the blood of Telangana’s people—he cannot be called the Father of Telangana.”
