Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is set to hold a face-to-face interaction with farmers on June 16 as part of the ‘Rythu Nestham’ programme, with the state government gearing up to facilitate the major outreach.
The event will take place at the Agricultural University, with Revanth Reddy, several cabinet ministers, and top officials participating. The programme will be broadcast live across all Rythu Nestham centres.
To ensure broad participation, the administration is making arrangements for at least 250 farmers from each area to attend. Chief Secretary has already directed collectors to oversee special preparations to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
This year, the monsoon has arrived early in the country, and rains are already falling across parts of Telangana. In this context, the Chief Minister is expected to hold discussions with farmers about the upcoming crop season including which crops to plant and which fertilizers to use. There are also reports that the interaction may cover a range of other issues concerning the farming community.
The government hopes the direct dialogue will help farmers make informed decisions as they prepare for the kharif season amid changing climatic conditions.
