Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday greeted women on the occasion of the Saddula Bathukamma festival, calling it a symbol of cultural pride and social unity.
He said Telangana has a unique tradition of worshipping nature and flowers, which Bathukamma represents. He wished women a joyful festival filled with flower stacks, folk songs, and traditional dances.
“The festival is a testament to the collective way of life of Telangana and the unity of people who share hardships and joys together,” Revanth Reddy said.
Saddula Bathukamma festival to feature 10,000 women
The Chief Minister noted that Bathukamma, celebrated for nine days, represents the self-respect of Telangana people, particularly women. He announced that the government will host a grand celebration at Saroor Nagar Stadium with 10,000 women participating.
He emphasized that Bathukamma is more than a cultural event and also reflects Telangana’s social fabric.
Revanth Reddy reaffirmed his government’s commitment to conserving nature by protecting ponds and lakes for future generations. He said the revival of Bathukamma Kunta highlights that commitment to safeguarding natural resources.
