Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy set an example by allowing authorities to demolish the compound wall of his own house in Kondareddypalli village, Mahbubnagar district, as part of a road-widening drive. Neither the Chief Minister nor his family members objected to the action.
CM Revanth Reddy’s house compound demolished for road widening
The demolition took place during road expansion works in Kondareddypalli, Reddy’s native village. Officials carried out the work without interference, even though it involved the Chief Minister’s residence. Locals present at the spot captured photographs and videos of the demolition, which later went viral on social media.
Netizens hail CM’s gesture
The incident drew widespread praise from netizens, who contrasted Revanth Reddy’s response with that of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. “This is the difference between Revanth and KCR. Revanth cooperated when his own compound wall was demolished, while KCR altered Kaleshwaram’s design to protect his farmhouse,” one post read.
Officials said the road expansion was part of ongoing development works in the area and that all affected properties, including the CM’s residence, were treated equally under the project.
