Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said government offices across Telangana would be modernised to global standards and Hyderabad would be shaped into an international city. On Wednesday, he laid the foundation stone for the Rangareddy District Registrar Office and integrated Sub-Registrar complexes at the Telangana Academy of Land Information and Management in Gachibowli.
Sub-Registrar offices overhaul
After inspecting construction materials, Revanth stressed that sub-registrar offices remained in a deplorable state despite generating ₹15,000 crore a year. “Citizens who pay crores in taxes are treated as if they committed a crime when they visit these offices. This must change,” he said. He announced that the new Gachibowli office, spread across three acres, would open by the next State Formation Day. Aparna Group contributed ₹30 crore under CSR to fund the project.
Musi River and night economy
Furthermore, Revanth said the rejuvenation of the Musi River and the proposed Bharat Future City would shape Hyderabad’s growth. He pledged to bring 20 TMC of Godavari water to ensure the river flowed year-round and to develop a modern riverfront. In addition, he unveiled plans for a night economy backed by an elevated corridor, allowing businesses to function round-the-clock.
Housing and urban expansion
He added that Rajiv Swagruha housing would return to provide affordable homes for the middle class. Moreover, he directed ministers to prepare city expansion plans that include Metro rail, the Regional Ring Road and Musi rejuvenation. “Our aim is not to compete with Bengaluru or Delhi but with New York, Singapore and Tokyo. Hyderabad must reach that level,” he said.
Telangana Rising 2047
Revanth further said the government’s vision under Telangana Rising 2047 was to build a $3 trillion economy by the centenary of independence.
Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Council Whip Patnam Mahender Reddy, Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and other officials attended the programme.
