HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has emphasized the need to construct and expand link roads in Hyderabad to accommodate public transportation demands. Chairing a review meeting at the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) on Saturday, he assessed the progress of the Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL) projects within the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) region.
During the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy reviewed the construction and expansion of 49 link roads and issued several directives. He stressed the importance of enhancing connectivity between various areas, ensuring smooth movement for commuters without obstructions. The Chief Minister instructed officials to design road networks keeping broad public benefits in mind.
CM Revanth Reddy highlighted that link road construction and existing road expansion should factor in future needs. He also stated that while land acquisition might increase costs, the government should not hesitate to make necessary investments if it leads to long-term benefits for commuters.
The meeting was attended by Chief Minister’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, State Government Advisor (Infrastructure) Srinivas Raju, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, Principal Secretaries V. Seshadri and Chandrasekhar Reddy, CM’s Special Secretary Ajit Reddy, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmad, and Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Dana Kishore, among others.
