CM Revanth Reddy interacts with students at Narayanpet Medical College
HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy interacted with students at Narayanpet Medical College, reaffirming the government’s commitment to enhancing medical education in rural areas. Addressing the gathering, he expressed satisfaction over the establishment of medical, paramedical, and nursing colleges in remote regions, ensuring accessible education for aspiring healthcare professionals.
State’s Efforts in Medical Education
CM Revanth Reddy highlighted that despite initial rejection by the central government, Telangana successfully secured approval for eight new medical colleges through persistent efforts by ministers and officials. He described this achievement as a testament to the administration’s dedication to public welfare and improved healthcare infrastructure.
Assuring students of the government’s focus on developing full-fledged infrastructure in the college, CM Revanth Reddy encouraged them to utilize available facilities effectively. Quoting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, he emphasized that true development occurs when welfare benefits reach the most underprivileged sections of society.
Education’s Role in Governance
Emphasising the role of education in shaping leadership, the Chief Minister reminded students that leaders who understand their needs best are now representing them as MLAs. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring accessible education for marginalized communities, particularly in rural areas.
Encouragement to Medical Students
CM Revanth Reddy also underlined the responsibility of medical professionals toward society, stating that being a doctor is not just a profession but a commitment to public service. He urged students to excel in their field and contribute meaningfully to the healthcare sector.
Proposal to Rename Narayanpet Medical College
In recognition of long-standing service in the region, CM Revanth Reddy proposed renaming Narayanpet Medical College after Chittem Narsi Reddy, who served the people of Narayanpet for five decades. He directed officials to take the necessary steps for the renaming process.
The interaction highlighted the Telangana government’s focus on strengthening medical education, ensuring that rural students have greater opportunities to pursue careers in healthcare while contributing to regional development.
