Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday paid last respects to senior Congress leader and former minister Ramreddy Damodar Reddy at his Jubilee Hills residence. The leader passed away on October 1 after illness.
Congress leaders, ministers, and MLAs visited the residence from the morning to offer floral tributes. Revanth Reddy laid a wreath and consoled family members. He said the death was an irreparable loss for the Congress and for the people of Nalgonda district.
Congress leaders recall Damodar Reddy’s loyalty
Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, MP Anil Kumar Yadav, and GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi paid their respects earlier. Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the party had lost a committed leader. He added that Damodar Reddy never abandoned Congress despite hardships.
Other party leaders described him as a loyal organiser who helped strengthen the party’s base in Telangana.
