Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy paid tribute to Professor K. Jayashankar on his birth anniversary, affirming that his government remained committed to the ideals of statehood that the late ideologue championed.
Revanth said Jayashankar had opposed the merger of the Hyderabad state into Andhra Pradesh and spent six decades articulating the injustice it caused. He credited Jayashankar with keeping the separate state movement alive through continuous advocacy and ideological clarity.
Jayashankar hailed as Telangana’s ideological architect
Calling him the intellectual architect of Telangana, the chief minister described Jayashankar as a symbol of commitment and lifelong dedication. He said the late professor’s reputation as a scholar and visionary earned him lasting respect.
Revanth emphasised that the state government would carry forward Jayashankar’s mission of justice, identity, and self-determination for Telangana.
