HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic wall collapse incident at the Simhachalam temple in Andhra Pradesh, which claimed seven lives and left several others injured.
Reacting to the incident on Twitter, the Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. He wrote that the tragic loss of lives during the Chandana Utsavam at the Simhachalam Appanna Swamy temple was deeply distressing and prayed for peace to the departed souls.
The incident occurred late at night during a heavy downpour, when a 20-foot cement wall near the ₹300 ticket queue complex collapsed unexpectedly. The devotees were caught unaware, resulting in a fatal accident.
Emergency response teams, under the supervision of Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha and senior officials, are continuing rescue operations at the site. Several injured persons are currently receiving treatment at nearby hospitals, and authorities fear the death toll may rise.
Leaders and citizens across both Telugu states have expressed shock and grief over the tragedy.
