HYDERABAD: Former Telangana Minister Harish Rao has strongly refuted Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s claims regarding the state’s debt. Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Revanth Reddy alleged that Telangana’s debt has reached Rs 7 lakh crore due to the previous BRS administration.
In response, Harish Rao took to the X platform to challenge the CM’s statement. He questioned how long Revanth Reddy would continue to blame debt for his government’s failures, despite being in power for over a year and a half. He remarked that repeating a lie a hundred times does not make it true.
Harish Rao reiterated that Telangana’s total debt stands at only Rs 4.17 lakh crore. He recalled that he had previously provided evidence in the Telangana Assembly to clarify this matter to both the legislators and the public. However, he accused Revanth Reddy of continuing to mislead the people despite holding the Chief Minister’s position.
He criticized the CM for tarnishing Telangana’s reputation by falsely claiming that the state is on the brink of financial collapse. Rao declared that he firmly rejects Revanth Reddy’s alleged misinformation regarding Telangana’s debt and condemned his attempts to discredit the previous BRS administration.
