Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday reviewed the arrangements for Godavari Pushkaralu at the Command Control Centre. He directed officials to develop permanent temple-centric ghats across the Godavari basin.
The Chief Minister said temple-linked ghats must receive top priority. He asked officials to plan facilities that pilgrims can continue using after the festival. Moreover, he stressed that these arrangements must highlight the temple heritage of the region.
CM directs focus on major temples and permanent facilities
Revanth Reddy asked officials to identify important temples between Basara and Bhadrachalam. He told them to visit Basara, Kaleshwaram, Dharmapuri, Bhadrachalam, and other shrines to finalize a list. In addition, he directed them to give preference to temples near national and state highways, which attract heavy pilgrim traffic.
The Chief Minister ordered expansion of existing ghats and construction of new ones where needed. He said facilities must allow nearly two lakh devotees to take a dip at once during the Pushkaralu. Furthermore, he instructed officials to design ghats differently at each temple, depending on local conditions.
Revanth Reddy stressed that tourism, irrigation, and endowments departments should work in coordination. He said joint planning would ensure smooth management during the festival. Therefore, he told officials to prepare permanent plans for roads, sanitation, and amenities to avoid recurring problems.
