Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday appealed to citizens to celebrate Ganesh immersion with devotion and caution as festivities entered their final phase across Telangana.
Posting on social media, the Chief Minister said: “In every lane of Hyderabad and in every village of Telangana, devotees have worshipped Lord Ganesh for 11 days. Now, as the deity returns to nature, let us bid him farewell with devotion, discipline, and safety.”
Revanth Reddy urges safe Ganesh immersion as Hyderabad gears up
Immersion ceremonies continued across Greater Hyderabad, with police estimating the event would last about 40 hours. At Hussain Sagar lake alone, nearly 50,000 idols were expected to be immersed.
To manage the massive turnout, more than 30,000 police personnel were deployed on duty. An additional 3,200 traffic police officers were assigned to regulate processions and vehicle movement.
Strict monitoring, women’s safety measures in place
Authorities have set up extensive surveillance with CCTV cameras and drones along immersion routes. SHE Teams have been deployed to ensure women’s safety during the festivities.
The police appealed to devotees to cooperate with security personnel to ensure the immersion concludes peacefully.
