Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited Medaram on Tuesday afternoon to offer prayers to tribal deities Sammakka and Saralamma and review preparations for the upcoming Jathara.
He arrived at the shrine at 12:30 PM, accompanied by Ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Konda Surekha, MP Porika Balram Naik, and State Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka). Minister Vadluri Lakshman, Mulugu Collector T S Divakar, and SP Dr Shabarish received them on arrival.
By 12:40 PM, tribal priests (Oddelu) welcomed the Chief Minister and other leaders with traditional rituals and escorted them to the Gadde premises. Revanth Reddy offered turmeric, vermilion, and sarees to the deities as part of the customary practice.
He also held a discussion with tribal priests at the Gadde site regarding the restoration works and Jathara-related arrangements. The Chief Minister assured full support to improve infrastructure and preserve tribal traditions linked to the sacred festival.
