Telangana tourism conclave 2025 to unveil major initiatives
The state government is targeting ₹15,000 crore in investments through PPP models and private sector participation. This initiative aims to generate over 50,000 jobs. Key projects under the plan include:
- A wellness retreat in Ananthagiri Hills (Jesom & Zen Megha)
- A wine-making facility using Telangana-grown grapes
- Taj Safari lodges within forest zones
- Waterfront resorts by Mahendra Company
- Ginger Hotels in tier-2 cities
- A wedding destination at Buddhavan by Fo Guang Shan (Taiwan)
Officials will sign MoUs for these projects in the presence of the Chief Minister.
Helicopter tourism and seaplane connectivity
For the first time, Telangana will offer helicopter tourism. The initial route will connect Hyderabad to Somasila and Srisailam. Meanwhile, feasibility studies are underway for seaplane services linking Nagarjuna Sagar, Srisailam, and Bhadrachalam.
“Film in Telangana” portal to ease movie production
To position Hyderabad as a global filming hub, the government will launch the Film in Telangana portal. This platform will provide single-window, AI-powered approvals for shoots at various locations, simplifying the permissions process and attracting film producers.
Medical tourism gets a digital upgrade
The Telangana Medical Value Tourism (MVT) portal will provide overseas patients with details about hospitals, top doctors, visa support, and insurance options. It will also guide patients from airport pickup to translation services.
Telangana food to get international spotlight
To promote regional cuisine, the state will globally market dishes such as Sarvapindi, Sakinalu, and Boti Curry. A food map highlighting regional specialties is ready, and the government is signing an MoU with the Netherlands to introduce Telangana cuisine internationally.
New attractions, security measures, and travel ease
The state will launch Muchukunda, a 120-seat double-decker boat in Hussain Sagar, to boost water tourism. In parallel, the number of tourist police will rise from 15 to 90, with a focus on women’s safety.
The government is also signing agreements with IRCTC and travel agencies to streamline tourist transport. New vehicle options including caravans and a digital tourism card offering discounts at temples, hotels, and transport services will soon be available.
In collaboration with BookMyShow, Telangana will host grand events and introduce tourism awards to recognize excellence in the hospitality sector.
