Hyderabad: The Telangana Cabinet will meet on August 4 under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership to review the Justice P.C. Ghose Commission report on irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project.
A high-level committee has been constituted to study the Commission’s findings before the Cabinet deliberates on further action. The panel includes the secretaries of the Irrigation Department, General Administration Department, and Law Department.
Based on the committee’s analysis, the government is expected to decide on possible measures if financial or procedural violations are confirmed. The Cabinet is also likely to finalise dates for the upcoming Assembly session in the same meeting.
The Commission was appointed to investigate discrepancies in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme, one of Telangana’s costliest infrastructure projects. The state government’s decision will follow only after the internal committee submits its evaluation report.
