Hyderabad: With steady rains pounding Hyderabad and other districts, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has told officials to stay on high alert and take swift preventive steps to avoid any major fallout.
The India Meteorological Department has forecast more heavy showers across Telangana, prompting the CM to instruct all departments to kickstart emergency measures. “Don’t wait for issues—stay a step ahead,” he advised senior administrators.
In the city, Revanth has called for tight coordination between GHMC, traffic police, power utilities, water works, and law enforcement. The goal: keep key roads clear of flooding, ensure electricity isn’t disrupted, and avoid traffic snarls.
He emphasised the need to safeguard low-lying areas from flooding and ensure residents aren’t left in the lurch. Departments must have contingency plans ready, he said.
The Chief Minister also appealed to people in high-risk zones to stay alert and follow official advisories. At the same time, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao has been tasked with overseeing district-level developments and coordinating immediate responses.
As the monsoon gathers momentum, the state government is moving fast, banking on tight coordination and prompt action to stay ahead of the curve.
