Hyderabad: District Collector Harichandana Dasari directed officials to fast-track work on the Old City Metro stretch and the Paradise–Shamirpet elevated corridor by resolving land acquisition hurdles without delay.
At a review held at the collectorate with Metro and Revenue department officials on Thursday, she said land acquisition from MGBS to Chandrayangutta must be completed at the earliest to push forward metro construction.
On the Paradise–Shamirpet corridor, she addressed site-level objections flagged by locals and instructed officials on how to handle them with appropriate resolutions.
Additional Collector Mukund Reddy, Metro Rail officials, Secunderabad RDO Sai Ram, and Khairatabad Tahsildar Nayeemuddin attended the meeting.
Later in the day, the Collector conducted surprise inspections at the Golconda Area Hospital and the Kummariwada Primary Health Centre. She warned that strict disciplinary action would be taken against any hospital staff found neglecting their duties.
She instructed health officials to ensure that government hospitals conduct a higher number of normal deliveries rather than referring cases unnecessarily.
The Collector also told medical staff to prioritise proper care for pregnant women, mothers, children, and senior citizens.
She asked health authorities to carry out focused awareness campaigns on malaria and dengue prevention across the area.
Those present during the inspection included DMHO Dr. Venkati, Area Hospital Superintendent Dr. Srinivas, Additional DMHO Dr. Muralidhar, Dr. Ayesha Sultana, and other personnel.
