Hyderabad: District Collector T. Vinay Krishna Reddy on Saturday directed officials to expedite Indiramma housing works in Nizamabad. He inspected construction progress at Dubb area and interacted with beneficiaries.
Collector reviews construction progress
The Collector checked houses that had reached foundation level and inquired whether the first phase bills had been credited. He also spoke with beneficiaries who had not yet started construction and asked them to explain the reasons for delay.
He instructed officials to ensure there were no bottlenecks in beneficiary selection and approval. While many rural families showed interest in the scheme, he stressed that housing units must also be allotted in municipal limits as per government policy. He urged officials to encourage beneficiaries to begin construction and involve Indiramma committees if required.
Financial support for weaker sections
For beneficiaries unable to start work due to lack of funds, the Collector advised providing bank loans under MEPMa linkage. He asked officials to monitor progress regularly and resolve obstacles promptly. He directed them to ensure construction aligns with the government’s size norms—no less than 400 sq. ft. and no more than 600 sq. ft.
Bills must be credited directly into beneficiary accounts as each construction stage is completed, he added. Warning against delays, the Collector said visible progress must be evident during his next inspection. He cautioned that negligence would invite strict action.
Visit to Abhayahastam Colony
The Collector also visited Abhayahastam Colony in Dubb area to review assigned government land. He instructed revenue and municipal authorities to conduct a joint survey and fix boundaries.
Municipal Commissioner Dilip Kumar, Housing PD Pawan Kumar, DE Nivarthi, Town Project Officer Ramesh, and North Tahsildar Vijay Kanth accompanied him.
