Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, visited Madannapet Police Station on Monday in his first official inspection after assuming charge. He reviewed law and order, communal harmony, and the progress of key cases. The Commissioner also interacted with staff and checked case records to ensure discipline and efficiency.
Sajjanar stresses citizen-centric policing in Hyderabad
During the visit, Commissioner Sajjanar promoted the idea of People Welfare Policing. He said police must focus on citizen-friendly service delivery and public trust. Officers should treat every complainant with respect and register cases without delay. He directed investigators to maintain transparency and complete inquiries within a fixed time.
Sajjanar said the department would prioritise women and child safety, cybercrime control, and AI-based policing. He also emphasised welfare measures for police personnel.
Commissioner reviews safety measures and meets victim’s family
The Commissioner met Azeemuddin Farooq, father of murder victim Sumayya, who thanked Hyderabad Police for the swift probe and arrest of the accused. Later, Sajjanar inspected sensitive areas, police pickets, and surveillance cameras. He interacted with residents to assess safety conditions and local policing needs.
Senior officers, including Joint Commissioner Tafseer Iqubal, DCP Apoorva Rao, and DCP S. Chaitanya Kumar, accompanied him during the inspection.
