Focus on the 42 per cent quota in local bodies
Leaders discussed strategies for the upcoming local body elections. They specifically examined the demand for 42 per cent reservations for BCs and legal strategies to defend the quota. They reviewed options to move forward within the constitutional framework.
The leaders also referred to the recent Tamil Nadu court ruling. The judgment stated that if bills pending with the Governor or President crossed three months, the state government could enforce them. Consequently, they expressed optimism that Telangana could also implement pending reservation measures under similar legal grounds.
