Kamareddy: Telangana Congress leaders have pledged to press for a BC quota law through the Kamareddy BC declaration rally scheduled for September 15. At a preparatory meetingi in Kamareddy on Sunday, TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud said the event would expose the BJP and BRS over reservations and corruption.
He stated that the Congress would force the Centre to act on BC reservations. “This rally will serve as a wake-up call to Modi and Amit Shah,” he said. Goud affirmed the party’s commitment to enacting legislation for BC quotas. He also accused the BJP of staging “religious theatrics” to gain votes.
Kamareddy BC declaration to challenge BJP and BRS
Goud alleged that BJP general secretary Bandi Sanjay visits temples each morning to seek votes. He challenged BJP leaders to campaign without security. According to him, they are deceiving BC communities. “Etela Rajender has already lost credibility,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, Goud accused BRS MLC K. Kavitha of damaging Nizamabad’s reputation. He called her the “liquor queen.” The TPCC chief further claimed that internal disputes in the KCR family were caused by conflicts over ill-gotten wealth.
He called the BRS leadership a “gang of thieves.” Kavitha, he said, had admitted to looting the state. “If she had said it five years ago, we would have honoured her honesty,” he added.
Goud stated that BCs constitute 56.33% of Telangana’s population, based on the caste survey. Therefore, the Congress remains committed to 42% BC reservations. He credited party workers for Congress’s return to power. Further, he described CM Revanth Reddy as the embodiment of Rahul Gandhi’s vision of proportional justice.
Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, D Seethakka, Konda Surekha, Advisor to Telangana Govt Mohammed Ali Shabbir and MP Suresh Shetkar were among those who attended the meeting.
