Hyderabad: Telangana Congress will stage a protest in Delhi on Wednesday demanding 42% reservations for Backward Classes in education, employment, and politics, TPCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud said on Tuesday night.
Speaking after inspecting arrangements at Jantar Mantar, Mahesh Kumar Goud stated the dharna was being organised beyond party lines to press the Centre for legislative approval of BC reservation bills. These bills have already been passed by the Telangana Legislative Assembly. He invited BJP MPs to join the protest and asserted that the Congress Government in Telangana, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership, was committed to the demand.
Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Vakkati Srihari, MPs Mallu Ravi and Suresh Shetkar, and government whip Adi Srinivas were present during the inspection of the protest site. Goud said thousands from Telangana were travelling to Delhi and expressed confidence in the protest’s success.

Kharge to inaugurate dharna, Rahul Gandhi to address gathering
AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge will inaugurate the protest at 11 am. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address the gathering at 4 pm. Congress leaders have been instructed to reach the site by 10:30 a.m. and participate throughout the day.
