Hyderabad: The Bharat Summit 2025 concluded on Saturday at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), marking a historic occasion as Congress leaders and delegates from over 100 countries unanimously adopted the Hyderabad Resolution, a comprehensive 44-point agenda dedicated to “Delivering Global Justice.”
The landmark event witnessed the participation of several prominent figures, including Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The Hyderabad Resolution reaffirmed a collective global commitment to the principles of freedom, equality, justice, and solidarity, addressing urgent global crises and advocating transformative policies.
The Hyderabad Resolution categorically condemned terrorism, authoritarian regimes, and actions undermining democracy and civil liberties. It outlined the global challenges of inequality, climate emergencies, and the erosion of progressive values, calling for unified resistance against far-right extremism and autocratic governance, particularly those regimes accused of power abuse, misinformation, and suppression of free expression.
The Resolution identified six major focus areas designed to reshape global structures: reimagining the global economic paradigm, advancing environmental justice, promoting gender equality and social inclusion, defending democracy and social justice, ensuring peace and human security, and reforming global governance institutions.
In its economic agenda, the Resolution called for equity-based economic systems, the introduction of progressive taxation such as wealth taxes, the promotion of fair trade policies, and enhanced public oversight of critical services, including health, education, food, and technology. Delegates stressed that human welfare must take precedence over capital accumulation.
Environmental justice was highlighted as a cornerstone of the agenda, with an urgent call for international cooperation to address climate change, protect vulnerable populations, and transition towards sustainable energy systems. The Resolution proposed a Global Green Deal to harmonise economic reforms with ecological preservation.
The document further emphasised the promotion of gender equality through gender-transformative policies, representation quotas, targeted support for women and LGBTQ+ communities, and initiatives to tackle persistent gender-based disparities and violence.
In defence of democracy and social justice, the Resolution advocated for the protection of independent institutions, accountability for human rights violations, and the implementation of robust digital governance reforms to curb hate speech, misinformation, and data exploitation.
Peace and human security were reaffirmed as fundamental for global justice, with delegates committing to diplomacy, conflict mediation, and the establishment of truth and reconciliation commissions to address historic and ongoing injustices.
Lastly, the Hyderabad Resolution called for sweeping reforms of global governance institutions, including the democratisation of the United Nations Security Council, greater representation for emerging economies, and a “Pact for the Future” to equip global institutions to meet modern challenges.
Addressing the summit, Rahul Gandhi stressed the need for a transformative shift in global politics, advocating for empathy, solidarity, and dialogue over fear and division. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy reiterated the state’s dedication to preserving democratic and liberal ideals.
The adoption of the Hyderabad Resolution at Bharat Summit 2025 signifies a robust global consensus among progressive forces to collaboratively address pressing international issues and strive towards a fairer, more equitable world order.
Today, from the heart of Hyderabad, a new commitment to global justice takes shape.
The Hyderabad Declaration, unveiled at #BharatSummit2025, lays out a bold, collective agenda – championing democracy, equity, peace, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion.
