Hyderabad: The Congress government in Telangana has pledged a comprehensive approach to address youth unemployment and provide opportunities for self-employment, officials announced on Thursday.
Highlighting the past decade of neglect faced by jobless youth, officials stated that since taking charge, the government has prioritised filling vacant posts and investing in youth development. So far, 56,000 government jobs have been filled, with another 36,000 positions currently in the recruitment pipeline.
In a major initiative, the government plans to spend ₹8,000 crore under the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam programme, targeting self-employment opportunities for five lakh young people across the state. The scheme is set to launch on June 2.
“This is just the beginning,” a government spokesperson said. “Our goal is to make every youth’s dream a reality. Your future is our responsibility.”
