HYDERABAD, February 3: Reports have emerged that ten Congress MLAs in Telangana convened a secret meeting on the outskirts of the city to express dissatisfaction with a minister’s conduct. While some Congress leaders have denied such a meeting took place, others stated they merely attended a luncheon hosted by a fellow party MLA.
The news of this clandestine gathering has reached the party’s central leadership in Delhi. Deepa Das Munshi, the In-Charge of Congress Affairs, currently occupied with the Delhi Assembly elections, has reportedly responded to the situation.
She is said to have contacted the concerned MLAs, informing them of her planned visit to Telangana on February 5. Das Munshi has reportedly instructed the MLAs to refrain from discussing the matter publicly until her arrival.
Following a meeting at ITC Kohenur, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud also reached out to the MLAs, advising them against making public statements on the issue. Despite these directives, some Congress MLAs have engaged with the media regarding the matter.
An emergency meeting of the Congress party was held yesterday morning at the Command Control Centre. During this session, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and other ministers resolved to proceed in accordance with the central leadership’s decisions, conveying their concerns to senior leaders in Delhi. The party’s response to this internal development remains to be seen.
