Congress leaders offer aid, condolences to family of martyred constable in Nizamabad

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress leaders on Thursday visited the family of constable Pramod in Nizamabad, days after his death in an attack by a rowdy-sheeter. They offered condolences and provided ₹2 lakh as financial assistance.

TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud and Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir led the Congress delegation. They met the grieving family, spoke with Pramod’s parents, and assured them of the party’s continued support.

Leaders honour sacrifice of martyred constable in Nizamabad

Speaking to reporters, Shabbir Ali said no financial aid could compensate for the loss of a loved one. “Pramod’s sacrifice brings pride to the entire police force,” he said.

He appreciated the State government’s ex gratia package. The compensation includes ₹1 crore, a government job for a family member, and a 300-square-yard residential plot in Nizamabad. According to him, the announcement reflects the government’s respect for police bravery.

Moreover, Shabbir underlined the need to protect the morale and welfare of police personnel, especially those serving in high-risk areas.

Congress promises long-term support

Mahesh Kumar Goud described Pramod as a dedicated and courageous officer. “His service and bravery should inspire others in uniform,” he said. He also promised that Congress would follow up on the family’s needs and ensure their concerns are addressed.

Several local Congress leaders, party workers, and community members accompanied the delegation. Their participation reflected broad public respect for the martyred constable.
