HYDERABAD: Congress MLC Addanki Dayakar criticized Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for attending the assembly solely for muster purposes, neglecting public interest.
During a media conference at Gandhi Bhavan organized by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), Dayakar compared KCR’s behavior to that of dictators, stating that discussing stature is characteristic of autocrats. He drew parallels between KCR and Hitler, alleging that both focused on stature and employed ministers to propagate falsehoods.
Dayakar accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party of producing leaders who lack basic respect for the Speaker, the Constitution, and the assembly. He claimed that BRS leaders believe they can act with impunity under the pretext of fighting for Telangana, while the true fighters remain present.
Highlighting the Congress party’s sacrifices for the nation, Dayakar challenged BRS leaders to showcase their contributions. He found it ironic that KCR, who became Chief Minister after appealing to Sonia Gandhi for Telangana, now discusses stature. Referring to KCR’s recent statement that those who talk about stature end up on stretchers heading to the mortuary, Dayakar remarked that the same fate befell Hitler.
He criticized BRS leaders for removing ‘Telangana’ from their party’s name, asserting they lack the moral right to discuss Telangana matters. Dayakar suggested that Telangana society has rejected dictatorial figures like KCR and chosen Revanth Reddy as Chief Minister, urging introspection among those defeated.
He expressed anger that KCR, who promised to make a Dalit the Chief Minister, now cannot tolerate a Dalit serving as Speaker. Dayakar pledged to utilize the opportunity given by the party to work in line with the aspirations of martyrs and the public.
