Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday said the Congress Party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) has termed the current governance in Telangana as a “Golden Period” under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Speaking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan following a PAC meeting, Bhatti said the panel expressed satisfaction with the state government’s decisions over the past year, particularly welfare schemes aimed at farmers and other groups.
The PAC resolved to build the Congress organisation from the booth level upward, with the Pradesh Congress Committee tasked with preparing a detailed action plan.
Bhatti said the party also plans to implement a system to ensure government schemes reach every household and grassroots beneficiary.
He accused the previous BRS government of failing to support farmers consistently, alleging that benefits under the Rythu Bandhu scheme were irregular.
He defended the state’s BC caste census, which he said followed a Cabinet resolution and unanimous Assembly approval. He criticised BRS leaders for opposing the survey, calling it hypocritical.
On agricultural aid, Bhatti said the state disbursed ₹9,000 crore under the Rythu Bharosa scheme just before the Kharif sowing season. Of that, ₹8,675 crore has already been credited to 67.01 lakh farmers. The total aid covers 1.49 crore acres and 69.70 lakh beneficiaries, a record disbursal in Indian agricultural support, he claimed.
