Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress observed Rahul Gandhi’s 55th birthday with a series of events across the state, including rallies, welfare programmes, and public outreach led by senior leaders.
At Gandhi Bhavan, the party’s state headquarters, celebrations included a large cutout of Rahul Gandhi set up by MP Anil Kumar Yadav, firecrackers, and drum performances. Books were distributed to school children under the supervision of Fisheries Federation Chairman Mettu Sai.
TPCC General Secretary Gajjela Kantham led a cake-cutting event attended by former MP V. Hanumantha Rao, MLC Aamir Ali Khan, TPCC Vice President Kumar Rao, and other senior leaders. Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Laxman also joined the gathering.
In a separate gesture, senior Congress leader Jagga Reddy donated ₹10 lakh to Hari Prasad, a cancer patient from Tallapalli village in Sangareddy constituency, to support his treatment expenses.
At Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka’s official residence, Praja Bhavan, a birthday event was held with sanitation workers from GHMC. A cake-cutting ceremony was followed by a community meal, with Bhatti personally feeding cake to two sanitation workers, Manjula and Kalavathi, who reciprocated the gesture.
The workers offered blessings to Rahul Gandhi, expressing hope that he would serve the country as Prime Minister, invoking memories of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.
TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud extended greetings and lauded Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. Community service activities were conducted throughout the day across districts.
