Hyderabad: Telangana Government Advisor and senior Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Friday said the return of Congress rule had restored smiles across villages after years of neglect under BRS rule.
Leading a development drive in Kamareddy under the Panula Jaatara initiative, Shabbir Ali laid foundations for Gram Panchayat buildings in Sardapur Thanda, Marri Thanda, Gunti Thanda, Vaddera Colony, and Vadi village of Palwancha mandal. Each building has a budget of ₹20 lakh. He also launched Anganwadi centres in Nemaligutta Thanda and Venukathanda, sanctioned at ₹12 lakh each.
Welfare schemes launched
Shabbir Ali handed out sanction letters under the Indiramma housing scheme, began new house construction, and distributed ration cards. He said families with low income, long denied entitlements during the BRS decade, are now receiving long-pending benefits.
He noted that the government released ₹9,000 crore under Rythu Bharosa within nine days. It also continued Rythu Bima insurance, supplied fertiliser on time, and sanctioned 3,500 Indiramma houses in Kamareddy. In addition, women are travelling free on RTC buses, households are receiving 200 units of free power, LPG is available at ₹500 per cylinder, and ration shops are distributing fine rice free of cost.
Focus on housing and women
The government, he said, is determined to provide housing for every eligible family and ₹10 lakh health cover under Aarogyasri. It is also extending major funding to women’s self-help groups and federations to boost their financial independence.
Shabbir Ali accused BRS leaders of enriching themselves while ignoring rural communities. “Under Congress, dignity is restored. People’s smiles reflect their renewed trust in governance,” he said.
Several local leaders and public representatives, including Narsing Rao, Palle Ramesh Goud, Ganesh Naik, Brahmananda Reddy, and Market Committee Chairman Raju, joined the programmes.
