Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) gained a political boost on Tuesday as senior Congress leader Ali Masqati and former TDP leader Shakeela Reddy joined the party in the presence of BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao.
The induction ceremony took place at KTR’s residence in Nandinagar, where he welcomed both leaders with the party’s traditional pink scarves. Their entry, party sources said, would strengthen BRS ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election.
Congress, TDP leaders join BRS citing failed governance
Speaking on the occasion, Ali Masqati said he joined the BRS because of its secular values and the leadership of K. Chandrashekar Rao and K.T. Rama Rao. He alleged that the Congress government had sidelined minority welfare and claimed that minorities had made notable progress under KCR’s rule.
Similarly, Shakeela Reddy announced her resignation from the TDP before joining the BRS. She stated that the Congress government had failed to introduce new development initiatives. Moreover, she praised the BRS’s governance record under KCR and said she would work actively in the Jubilee Hills by-election.
In addition, Rohit Sharma, a young political aspirant, also joined the BRS. He said he admired KTR’s leadership and wished to contribute to Telangana’s growth through the party’s development agenda.
Welcoming all the new members, K.T. Rama Rao expressed confidence that their participation would further energise the BRS’s mission of inclusive progress across the state.
