Hyderabad: Farmers in Kalvala village of Mahabubabad district finally received their urea supply after a police constable took control of the stranded lorry.
On Thursday, around 220 farmers gathered at the PACS distribution centre in Kalvala. They waited from morning until afternoon for a lorry carrying fertiliser from Warangal. Despite assurances from officials, the vehicle did not arrive on time.
Police traced the vehicle after being informed that it had left Warangal early in the day. They found the lorry parked near Kesamudram Dargah, three kilometres from Kalvala, with its driver lying beside the road in a drunken state.

Constable Aliem, who witnessed the farmers’ difficulty, stepped in to resolve the situation. He drove the lorry himself to Kalvala and delivered the fertiliser without further delay. Farmers expressed relief when the load reached the village.
SP Sudheer Raanath Kekan also praised Aliem’s action, stating that his response ensured timely distribution at the centre. The intervention prevented farmers from facing extended shortages.
