HYDERABAD: CPI MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao expressed concern that the Congress government’s focus appears to be predominantly on Hyderabad, urging equal attention to the state’s other districts. He was speaking in the assembly on Monday.
Sambasiva Rao highlighted the necessity of formulating a comprehensive industrial policy that leverages the unique resources available across various districts. He pointed out that while Hyderabad remains a central hub, districts like Bayyaram are rich in minerals, advocating for the establishment of a steel plant in Bayyaram to utilize these resources effectively.
Criticizing the central government’s inconsistent stance on the Bayyaram steel plant, Sambasiva Rao noted that initial assessments deemed the project feasible, but subsequent statements have cast doubt on its viability. He called for clarity and commitment to the project’s implementation.
Furthermore, Sambasiva Rao urged the state government to work towards establishing an Earth University in Kothagudem, emphasizing the importance of educational infrastructure in fostering regional development.
His remarks underscore the need for balanced development across Telangana, ensuring that the benefits of growth and industrialization are equitably distributed among all districts.
