Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to conduct the funeral of veteran Communist leader and former CPI national general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy with full state honours. He directed the Chief Secretary to issue immediate orders and personally monitor all arrangements.

The final journey of the veteran leader will begin on Sunday, 24 August 2025. At 9 a.m., his mortal remains will be moved from Care Hospital in Gachibowli to the CPI state headquarters, Makdoom Bhavan.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the body will lie in state for public homage. Leaders from across political parties, along with supporters and party cadres, are expected to offer their respects during this period.
Following this, at 3 p.m., the funeral procession will depart Makdoom Bhavan and head to Gandhi Medical College. By 5 p.m., the family will hand over the remains to the college for research purposes.
CPI Telangana State Secretary Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao appealed to party members statewide to participate in large numbers. He encouraged them to wear red shirts and sarees as a symbolic expression of the party’s ideology.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is scheduled to join the funeral procession. In addition, several senior political leaders and former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu are also expected to attend and pay tribute.
