Hyderabad, January 26: In a recent address at the Communist Party of India (Marxist) state convention in Sangareddy, senior leader BV Raghavulu voiced strong criticisms against the current political climate. He highlighted a stark contrast between communist parties and other political entities, asserting that while bourgeois parties serve the interests of capitalists, the CPI(M) is dedicated to the welfare of the poor, farmers, and laborers.
Raghavulu accused the Modi government of eroding democratic principles, alleging that it suppresses dissent by imprisoning those who criticize the Prime Minister. He expressed concern over the diminishing rights of workers, noting that the administration is curtailing their ability to organize and protest.
He further criticized the government for dividing people along caste and religious lines, calling for a more inclusive approach. Raghavulu advocated for several policy changes, including allocating 50% of central taxes to states, enshrining the right to a salary in the constitution, providing pensions to individuals over 60, and ensuring free education and healthcare for all.
Emphasizing the unique role of the CPI(M), Raghavulu stated that the party fights for the rights of marginalized communities and strives for systemic change to improve their living conditions. He concluded by reaffirming the party’s commitment to these causes, underscoring the belief that meaningful progress can only be achieved through the principles symbolized by the red flag.
