Hyderabad: Senior IPS officer C.V. Anand assumed charge as Special Chief Secretary of the Telangana Home Department on Tuesday at the state secretariat. He later met Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao.
Officials extended greetings to Anand after he took charge. The state government had recently transferred several IAS and IPS officers as part of a reshuffle.

Anand previously served as Hyderabad Police Commissioner. In the reshuffle, the government appointed him to the Home Department. Ravi Gupta, who held the post earlier, was moved as Executive Vice Chairman of the Centre for Good Governance (CGG).
