Hyderabad: Cyber fraudsters posing as bank agents duped a temple employee in Kuravi mandal by promising to increase his credit card limit, and siphoned off ₹9.6 lakh from his accounts.
According to Kuravi SI Satish, the victim, Katta Jagannatham, is an employee at the Sri Veerabhadra Swamy Devasthanam temple. The fraudsters first contacted him through a WhatsApp call, claiming they could enhance his credit card limit. They tricked him into clicking a malicious link, which allowed them to access his bank account.

The scammers also gathered details of his other credit cards and withdrew funds from multiple banks. After discovering the theft, the victim lodged a police complaint.
Police registered a case based on his report and have launched an investigation into the cyber fraud.
