Cyberabad CP credits inter-agency coordination for peaceful Ganesh immersions

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty on Sunday said Ganesh idol immersions concluded peacefully across the commissionerate, crediting the smooth execution to detailed planning and coordinated efforts among departments.

The festival, observed from August 27 to September 6, passed without any major incidents. Mohanty explained that the planning began with an inter-departmental meeting that brought together all relevant stakeholders. Each day, senior officers reviewed ground-level bandobast and directly monitored the processions from the Public Safety Integrated Operations Centre (PSIOC). This setup enabled quick responses to developing situations.

In total, authorities immersed 88,182 idols within Cyberabad. These included 16,309 in Madhapur, 26,542 in Balanagar, 23,952 in Medchal, 18,308 in Rajendranagar, and 3,071 in Shamshabad. Additionally, 490 idols were shifted to Hussain Sagar for immersion.

Mohanty pointed out that Cyberabad has 33 major lakes 20 in Ranga Reddy, 12 in Medchal-Malkajgiri, and one in Sangareddy. To enhance security, officials installed CCTV systems at 25 lakes falling under GHMC limits.

For crowd and traffic management, police deployed 5,785 personnel, including trained SHE teams. They also used 65 static and mobile cranes. Furthermore, anti-sabotage teams inspected all procession routes and adjacent lanes. PSIOC teams monitored the entire operation through real-time video feeds.

The Commissioner attributed the successful immersion drive to teamwork. He thanked departments including GHMC, TGSPDCL, Roads and Buildings, TRANSCO, Transport, Irrigation, Fire Services, and Health for their support. He also acknowledged the contributions of the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi, media, and the public for maintaining peace and order throughout the festival.
