Cyberabad Police tighten checks to stop drunk driving
Cyberabad Traffic Police filed cases against all offenders under Section 105 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Officers said the teams stopped and tested 435 bikers, 18 auto drivers, 79 car drivers, and two lorry drivers during the campaign.
Courts sentenced 32 offenders to jail after hearings. Another 35 motorists performed social service as part of their punishment. Officials said they would continue such drives regularly to discourage drunk driving and promote road discipline.
Police advised motorists to plan safe travel if they consume alcohol. They urged people to use cabs or public transport instead of risking their lives on the road. Officers also warned that anyone caught drunk behind the wheel would face legal action and license suspension.
