Cyberabad liquor ban

Hyderabad: All toddy and wine shops, along with bars in restaurants excluding those in star hotels and registered clubs will remain closed across the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits from 6 a.m. on July 20 to 6 a.m. on July 21, following police orders issued ahead of the Bonalu festival.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty issued the directive on Friday, citing public order and safety measures in connection with the annual Bonalu celebrations. The restrictions apply to all categories of liquor retail, including standalone outlets and restaurant-attached bars.

Star hotels and registered clubs have been exempted from the closure.
