Hyderabad: A Hyderabad family on holiday in the US perished in a devastating collision and subsequent fire while returning from Atlanta to Dallas. The incident on Monday night extinguished the lives of Tejaswini, her husband Sri Venkata, and their two children.
The family had travelled to Dallas for vacation before proceeding to visit relatives in Atlanta. After spending a week there, they began the return drive toward Dallas around midnight. Near the Green County area, a minitruck veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with their vehicle, triggering an intense blaze.
The impact was so severe, Tejaswini, Venkata, and their children were trapped inside. Within moments, the car went up in flames, engulfed so completely that by the time first responders arrived, it was already too late. The vehicle was reduced to ashes, and the entire family died from fatal burn injuries before they could be rescued.
With the vehicle reduced to charred remains, local authorities exhumed the victims’ remains for forensic examination. DNA samples were collected to confirm identities before handing over to relatives.
Sri Venkata and Tejaswini’s extended family in Atlanta are in profound shock following the loss of the couple and their children during what began as a joyful gathering.
What was meant to be a happy return home turned into a nightmare, leaving both families shattered.
Sri Venkata and Tejaswini had settled in Dallas before taking their trip.
