Hyderabad: A degree student was found dead by suicide early Wednesday morning inside a hostel room in Narayanaguda, sending shockwaves through the local student community.
The deceased, 20-year-old D. Praveen Kumar, hailed from Bhadradri-Kothagudem and was pursuing his studies at a private college in Hyderabad. He had been living at a men’s hostel in the area.
According to police, Praveen had appeared disturbed in recent days. Friends noted he had become unusually withdrawn, spending most of his time alone. With his roommates away, he reportedly took his own life by hanging from the ceiling fan sometime before dawn.
Hostel staff discovered the incident and immediately alerted the police. Narayanaguda police arrived at the scene and have begun an investigation. The exact reason behind the suicide remains unknown.
Authorities are awaiting further details and have not ruled out any possibilities.
