HYDERABAD: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu has reiterated the need for urgent resolution of pending central projects, state bifurcation promises, and financial allocations that have remained unresolved for over a decade.
Speaking on the matter, he stated that he, along with state ministers and senior officials, had consistently raised these issues with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Cabinet Ministers across multiple platforms.
Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka emphasized that crucial state bifurcation commitments, including the Bayyaram Steel Factory, Warangal Railway Coach Factory, Regional Ring Road, Warangal Textile Park, and Navodaya Schools, had not reached a logical conclusion despite repeated appeals to the Centre.
To address these long-pending concerns, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy convened a special meeting, bringing together state representatives across party lines. This meeting was not politically motivated but was aimed at securing Telangana’s rightful share.
The Deputy CM further stated that he had personally invited MPs from Congress, MIM, BRS, and BJP to participate in the meeting. Some MPs cited scheduling conflicts as a reason for their absence, while Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, in a letter, mentioned that he could not attend due to short notice.
Highlighting the importance of a collective effort, he stressed that even after a decade of Telangana’s formation, several pending financial allocations from the Centre and Andhra Pradesh government remain unresolved. He urged all Telangana MPs, irrespective of party affiliation, to come together and fight for the state’s rightful claims.
Ahead of the upcoming Parliament session, the Telangana Planning Department will provide all MPs with a detailed report on pending issues. He assured that in the future, such meetings would be planned well in advance to ensure greater participation.
Additionally, Bhatti Vikramarka suggested that MPs should raise supplementary questions in Parliament on Telangana’s pending projects. He also proposed convening an all-party MPs’ meeting in Delhi before or during the parliamentary session to ensure a well-coordinated strategy for addressing these concerns.
