Deputy Mayor launches Badi Bata 2025 drive at Tarnaka government school

Hyderabad: The Badi Bata 2025 programme got underway on Thursday at a government school in Tarnaka, with Deputy Mayor of Greater Hyderabad Smt. Mothe Srilatha Shoban Reddy leading the inaugural ceremony. She was joined by TTUC State President Sri Mothe Shoban Reddy for the launch, where they handed out government-supplied textbooks and uniforms to eager students.

Speaking at the gathering, Srilatha Shoban Reddy laid out the government’s ambitious education initiatives designed to give every child a strong start. She pointed to digital classrooms and well-equipped laboratories for science, maths and English as just some of the upgrades that have transformed the face of government schools. She pointed out that vocational training in fields like bookbinding, electrical work, and tailoring is giving students new opportunities to build practical skills alongside their regular studies.

The Deputy Mayor also emphasized several welfare initiatives in place, such as free mid-day meals, complimentary uniforms and textbooks, routine medical check-ups, and free bus transportation. Scholarships targeted at SC, ST and minority students, alongside computer education from Class VI to X, are all part of the state’s effort to ensure that no child is left behind.

Drawing a sharp contrast with private schools, she emphasised how government institutions now provide not only quality education but also a host of support systems that ease the financial burden on parents. She urges students to stay focused, work hard, and strive for excellence by taking full advantage of opportunities.

The programme saw the participation of Deputy EO Sri Balu Naik, along with teachers, parents and a large number of students who gathered for the occasion.
