Dindi Vagu drowning

Hyderabad: Three people, including a nine-year-old boy, drowned in the Dindi Vagu stream in Telangana’s Nalgonda district on Thursday. The incident occurred at Devaracharla village in Chandampet mandal.

The boy, identified as Sai Umakanth, accidentally fell into the stream while playing near its bank. Two relatives Raju (25) and Bharat Kumar (27) who tried to rescue him also drowned. Police later recovered both men’s bodies.

Search operations by police and local residents were ongoing late Wednesday to locate the missing child.

The deceased had arrived from Tenali, Andhra Pradesh, to visit relatives during the Dussehra festival. A case has been registered, and police are investigating the circumstances of the drowning.
