Hyderabad: Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar began hearings on disqualification petitions against defected MLAs in his chamber on Saturday.
MLAs Gudem Mahipal Reddy and Bandla Krishnamohan Reddy attended the proceedings. Lawyers representing the petitioners cross-examined the two legislators’ advocates during the session.
Disqualification petitions hearing against MLAs begins in Telangana Assembly
The Speaker had earlier scheduled hearings for Mahipal Reddy, Krishnamohan Reddy, Kale Yadayya, and Prakash Goud on October 1. However, long questioning in Yadayya’s case delayed the process, and the other cases remained pending that day.
The Speaker continued the hearings today with Mahipal Reddy and Krishnamohan Reddy. Sources said once these hearings conclude, the Speaker will release a fresh schedule for the remaining four MLAs facing disqualification charges.
